MX5 NA / MK1 Luggage Rack :
Black - From : $624.95 AUD
Polished & Anodised From : $739.95 AUD
Revo-Rack is a unique design of Mazda MX5 NA / MK1 Luggage Rack that eliminates the risk of paint damage, caused by steel clamps or straps on the fragile boot/trunk lid edges.
We have been manufacturing the Revo-Rack since 2016 in two finishes powder coated black and the PA model which is hand polished and then anodised to create a deep chrome like shine. We only sell direct over the web.
Revo-Rack attaches to your MX5 using vacuum cup technology, these are not suction cups. Suction is what creates vacuum. Vacuum is the total absence of air whereas suction is the process done to achieve a vacuum. The grey buttons on the side of the cups pump the air out from the cup creating a huge securing force.

The Rack Frame :
This MX5 MK1 luggage rack is manufactured from 25mm/ 1" 6063-T5 tubing this is an aluminium and magnesium alloy ( it will never rust ) As a result the rack frame weighs only 1.672kg / 3.6lb The cross bars are machine welded in place to ensure consistency, the rack is powder coated black or hand polished and anodised. The rack measures 900x420mm / 36"x17"
Vacuum Cups :
Revo-Rack is secured to MX5 NA/MK1 using three 120mm vacuum cups. These are rated by the manufacturer as capable of holding an 18kg/40lb load each. These are not suction cups.
Vacuum cups employ the force of atmospheric pressure to grip a surface: These are not suction cups. Suction is what creates vacuum. Vacuum is the total absence of air whereas suction is the process done to achieve a vacuum. The grey buttons on the side of the cups pump the air out from the cup creating a huge securing force. When a vacuum exists between the cup and the surface on which it is attached, the weight of Earth's atmosphere holds the cup in place with incredible force. Unlike suction cups that produce a vacuum as they pull away from the surface, Revo-Racks vacuum cups use a hand-actuated pump to efficiently remove air from between the rubber pad and the attaching surface thus creating a much more secure hold.
The Revo-Racks vacuum cup's pump feature a pump button with a red line, which serves as a vacuum indicator. Introduced in the1960's, this safety device is still recognized as one of the most reliable warning systems available. A few strokes of the pump evacuate the vacuum pad, causing it to seal securely to the car. When the cup is attached completely, the plunger stops moving and the red line is hidden within the pump. A visible red line indicates if air has leaked back into the pad, making vacuum insufficient to use the cup. However, if the red line becomes visible while the cup is in use, a check valve allows you re pump the cup without losing the remaining vacuum.
Lifting on the release tab near the edge of the pad allows air to refill the evacuated space, so that the vacuum cup detaches completely. Revo-Rack sits 7.5cm / 3" off the boot/trunk lid
Love the rack for our 2010 retractable hardtop Miata MX-5.
The revo-rack fits perfectly and is easy to install. The retractable top can be used with the rack installed, but only if there is no luggage on the rack at the time. We used it on a trip down the California coast on Hiway 1 from Monterey to Pismo Beach and had zero concerns or problems.
My wife made some custom leather straps to secure our suitcase to the rack and it looks VERY classy!

We have just completed our second long road trip with the Revo-Rack on the MX-5. This time we did 3,800km, mostly at high freeway speeds, but also plenty of curvy roads, and the rack held fast in all the wind blast and lots of lateral forces. Top up or top down, there was never a worry with the rack and luggage.
We couldn’t be happier with our purchase.

Huge shoutout to the people across the pond at Revo-Rack. They didn’t pay me or anything to endorse them, but the rack is honestly the best possible solution for adding storage capacity to the world’s favorite roadster. It left no marks and I am sure it would work well on other vehicles too. At around $300 the rack seemed expensive at first, but it worked flawlessly and even kept all that camping gear rock steady into triple digit speeds at one point. Plus it’s something that I’ll continue to use in the future.

Dear Anthony,
We are back in Holland after a trip of nearly 5000 KMS through France and Spain....You can see how we packed.
As you can see I used straps for extra safety. The rack was doing very well only one time I had to pump one cup extra.
