Miata ND Luggage Rack
Revo-Rack Black $439.95
Revo-Rack PA $549.95
Revo-Rack is a unique design of Mazda Miata ND Luggage Rack that eliminates the risk of paint damage, caused by steel clamps or straps on the fragile trunk lid edges.
We have been manufacturing the Revo-Rack since 2016 in two finishes black and the PA model which is hand polished and anodised to create a deep chrome like shine. We only sell direct over the web.
We designed Revo-Rack in 2015 when the ND was launched. The issue with fitting a conventional metal clamp based luggage rack to the ND is the 0.16"/2.7mm panel gap - there is no room for a metal clamp.
Revo-Rack attaches to your Miata ND using vacuum cup technology, these are not suction cups. Suction is what creates vacuum. Vacuum is the total absence of air whereas suction is the process done to achieve a vacuum. The grey buttons on the side of the cups pump the air out from the cup creating a huge securing force.
In 2015 Revo-Rack was independently certified by TUV Italy part of the global TUV testing and certification business. It went through speed, braking and force tests, to ISO 11154:2006 Revo-Rack passed all these tests and is certified to carry 20kg/45lbs. Since 2016 we have sold over 10,000 Revo-Racks and never had a failure.
We are of course aware that Mazda suggests a maximum load of 10kg/22lbs for their carbon fibre rack on the ND because of the cars aluminium trunk lid. This clamps on a like a conventional rack with the load spread over a very small area 20cm².The footprint of the clamps on the edge of the trunk lid.
With a Revo-Rack the load is spread over a much greater area over 300cm² The footprint of the vacuum cups.Hence the Revo-Rack can carry a greater load of 20kg/45lbs with no risk of damage to the trunk lid. Think of this like standing or a frozen lake or skimming across it on your belly. One will cause thin ice to crack the other won’t

Why a Revo-Rack Miata ND Luggage Rack ?
- No clamps on the fragile aluminium trunk lid edges
- Precision made lightweight aluminium & magnesium alloy frame 3.6lbs
- We follow Mazda's 'gram strategy' putting a heavy steel framed luggage rack on the ND totally ignores Mazda's ethos for the car.
- Shipped to the USA in 2-4 days with DHL
- As the Revo-Rack is less than $800 there are no import duties & no state taxes
- Tested to ISO/PAS 11154:2006 Road vehicles
- No Straps across the deck/trunk lid surface
- In manufacture since 2016 - tried & tested by thousands of happy customers.
- Conceived, designed and engineered for the MK4/ND MX5/Miata
- Due to the 0.106" panel gap on the ND its too small for a traditional clamp to fit, the 45 degree lip inside the trunk makes this almost impossible.
- Revo-Racks load carrying capacity independently tested and certified at 45lbs
- Supplied with two luggage straps and a cotton storage bag
- Revo-Rack is not designed for permanent fitting its designed for a days travel and then it needs to be removed overnight as the paint under the cups needs to exposed to the atmosphere.
The Rack Frame :
This Miata ND luggage rack is manufactured from 1" 6063-T5 tubing this is an aluminium and magnesium alloy ( it will never rust ) As a result the rack frame weighs only 3.6lb perfect for the ND's aluminium boot/trunk lid. The cross bars are machine welded in place to ensure consistency, the rack is powder coated black or hand polished and anodised. The Revo-Rack frame measures 36"x17"
Vacuum Cups :
Revo-Rack is secured to your Miata ND using three 5"/120mm vacuum cups. These are rated by the manufacturer as capable of holding an 18kg/40lb load each. These are not suction cups.
Vacuum cups employ the force of atmospheric pressure to grip a surface: These are not suction cups. Suction is what creates vacuum. Vacuum is the total absence of air whereas suction is the process done to achieve a vacuum. The grey buttons on the side of the cups pump the air out from the cup creating a huge securing force. When a vacuum exists between the cup and the surface on which it is attached, the weight of Earth's atmosphere holds the cup in place with incredible force. Unlike suction cups that produce a vacuum as they pull away from the surface, Revo-Racks vacuum cups use a hand-actuated pump to efficiently remove air from between the rubber pad and the attaching surface thus creating a much more secure hold.
Lifting on the release tab near the edge of the pad allows air to refill the evacuated space, so that the vacuum cup detaches completely. Revo-Rack sits 7.5cm / 3" off the trunk lid

Drove from New York to Idaho then onto Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota in my 2024 Mazda mx5 with the Revo Rack.
Over 6500 miles Rack stayed planted and never budged. Checked it every time I got gas.

We took a trip from South Carolina to Arkansas and back and needed additional storage space for our luggage.
We purchased the Revo-Rack for our 2017 Mazda MX-5. I have to admit, I was a little skeptical at first. I wasn't sure if the suction cups would hold the rack and suitcase in place especially when traveling on Interstate Highways with speeds up to 79 miles per hour. We stopped once overnight on the trip out there and once overnight coming home. I took the rack off of the car each night and stored it in our hotel room until we were ready to reinstall and hit the road the next morning. Total round trip was over 1,400 miles.
We never lost our luggage!! 🙂 I was concerned about the marks that the suctions cups left on the trunk lid until I washed the car when we returned. The marks went away after a good washing. I would highly recommend this rack for anyone who has a really small/2-seater car and needs extra space for luggage. Great product. Also, I was impressed with how quick the shipment arrived. We ordered on 6/6/2022 and got it (all the way from England) in 7 days!!!
I'm very happy with our Revo-Rack.

I recently did a 800 mile road/camping trip with a ND-Miata group through Death Valley. The Revo-Rack was fantastic in expanding the amount of storage space available to me and allowed for us to bring way more creature comforts camping than we would have been able to otherwise. I was nervous at first keeping up with the other ND-Miata drivers who did not have racks installed as they went 80+mph and took the turns as you do in a sports car. However, my worry was unwarranted as the rack didn't budge and everything stayed tight as I threw my car into increasingly faster and more challenging roads.
Lastly, when I was done with the rack, it came off with ease, didn't leave any marks and packed up easily in it's case. It now sits ready to go for the next time adventure calls and all you own is a two-seater convertible.

Hi Liza,
We went on wonderful road trip to Austin, Texas and the surrounding Hill Country, in the beginning I was bit scared/anxious that the rack would come off or damage the trunk, all was good, here a pic;

Finally tested out the snowboards with the trunk rack today. It worked flawlessly even up to 80 mph and turning hard on the backroads. Snapped every neck that looked our direction.

Huge shoutout to the people across the pond at Revo-Rack. They didn’t pay me or anything to endorse them, but the rack is honestly the best possible solution for adding storage capacity to the world’s favorite roadster. It left no marks and I am sure it would work well on other vehicles too. At around $300 the rack seemed expensive at first, but it worked flawlessly and even kept all that camping gear rock steady into triple digit speeds at one point. Plus it’s something that I’ll continue to use in the future.

We have just completed our second long road trip with the Revo-Rack on the MX-5. This time we did 3,800km, (2300 miles) mostly at high freeway speeds, but also plenty of curvy roads, and the rack held fast in all the wind blast and lots of lateral forces. Top up or top down, there was never a worry with the rack and luggage.
We couldn’t be happier with our purchase.
