Mazda MX5 / Miata Spare Wheel Carrier

 

For many the thought of a long road trip without a spare can be worrying. But how to carry the spare and not lose valuable trunk/boot space ?

 

We have a number of customers who have successfully used the revo-rack to carry spares. The rack is TUV tested and certified to carry 20kg so as long as your spare and tyre does not exceed that its fine. The revo-rack measures 90x42cm and is attached using vacuum pad technology no metal clamps or brackets on the fragile trunk/boot lid edges.

 

 

Hi Antony,
Road Hero spare for the MX5 fits ok. It is 15kg so well within weight limit. Overhangs at the front. Wheel slides under the hoop at the back of the rack by about an inch. Seems secure with the supplied straps, but I am going to wait til the Cam Buckle Tie Down Straps  arrive to give it a road trial.
Some photos attached (without straps). Will probably use with the wheel enclosed in its bag, with appropriate slots cut for the straps.
