No clamps = No paint damage

Revo-Rack is a unique design of Mazda MX5 MK2 Luggage Rack that eliminates the risk of paint damage, caused by steel clamps or straps on the fragile boot/trunk lid edges.

We have been manufacturing the Revo-Rack since 2016 in two finishes powder coated black and the PA model which is hand polished and then anodised to create a deep chrome like shine. We only sell direct over the web. All Revo-Racks are supplied with two webbing luggage straps and a storage bag to keep everything in one place until you next use the Revo-Rack.

Revo-Rack attaches to your MX5 using vacuum cup technology, these are not suction cups. Suction is what creates vacuum. Vacuum is the total absence of air whereas suction is the process done to achieve a vacuum. The grey buttons on the side of the cups pump the air out from the cup creating a huge securing force.

In 2015 Revo-Rack was independently certified by TUV Italy part of the global TUV testing and certification business. It went through speed, braking and force tests, to ISO 11154:2006 Revo-Rack passed all these tests and is certified to carry 20kg/45lbs. Since 2016 we have sold over 10,000 Revo-Racks and never had a failure.

The Rack Frame :

This MX5 MK2 luggage rack is manufactured from 25mm/ 1" 6063-T5 tubing this is an aluminium and magnesium alloy ( it will never rust ) As a result the rack frame weighs only 1.672kg / 3.6lb  The cross bars are machine welded in place to ensure consistency, the rack is powder coated black. The rack measures 900x420mm  /  36"x17"

Vacuum cups :

Revo-Rack is secured to your Mazda MX5 NB/MK2 using three 120mm vacuum cups. These are rated by the manufacturer as capable of holding an 18kg/40lb load each. These are not suction cups.

Vacuum cups employ the force of atmospheric pressure to grip a surface: These are not suction cups. Suction is what creates vacuum. Vacuum is the total absence of air whereas suction is the process done to achieve a vacuum. The grey buttons on the side of the cups pump the air out from the cup creating a huge securing force. When a vacuum exists between the cup and the surface on which it is attached, the weight of Earth's atmosphere holds the cup in place with incredible force. Unlike suction cups that produce a vacuum as they pull away from the surface, Revo-Racks vacuum cups use a hand-actuated pump to efficiently remove air from between the rubber pad and the attaching surface thus creating a much more secure hold.

The Revo-Racks vacuum cup's pump feature a pump button with a red line, which serves as a vacuum indicator. Introduced in the1960's, this safety device is still recognized as one of the most reliable warning systems available. A few strokes of the pump evacuate the vacuum pad, causing it to seal securely to the car. When the cup is attached completely, the plunger stops moving and the red line is hidden within the pump. A visible red line indicates if air has leaked back into the pad, making vacuum insufficient to use the cup. However, if the red line becomes visible while the cup is in use, a check valve allows you to re pump the cup without losing the remaining vacuum.

Lifting on the release tab near the edge of the pad allows air to refill the evacuated space, so that the vacuum cup detaches completely. Revo-Rack sits 7.5cm / 3" off the boot/trunk lid

Soft rubber cannot chip scratch or mark paintwork

Revo-Rack has been independently tested by TUV Italy, they applied a 645N force a lifting force of around 65kg for 10 minutes to a Revo-Rack with a 25kg load on it and the rack stayed secure. If attached properly Revo-Rack is as secure if not more secure than a traditional clamp rack.

G'Day Antony
I received the rack in super quick time thanks.
Find attached a of photo of it with golf clubs on it on the aluminum boot of a 2004 MX5 SE sold as Miata Mazdaspeed in the USA and other names around the globe.
The roof folds up and down without fouling. The rack fits in the boot for storage too which is handy!
Do me a favour and blur the number plate if you are using the images on the web etc please.
If you want any other photos let me know.

We have just completed our second long road trip with the Revo-Rack on the MX-5. This time we did 3,800km, mostly at high freeway speeds, but also plenty of curvy roads, and the rack held fast in all the wind blast and lots of lateral forces. Top up or top down, there was never a worry with the rack and luggage.

We couldn’t be happier with our purchase.

Huge shoutout to the people across the pond at Revo-Rack. They didn’t pay me or anything to endorse them, but the rack is honestly the best possible solution for adding storage capacity to the world’s favorite roadster. It left no marks and I am sure it would work well on other vehicles too. At around $300 the rack seemed expensive at first, but it worked flawlessly and even kept all that camping gear rock steady into triple digit speeds at one point. Plus it’s something that I’ll continue to use in the future.

Dear Anthony,

We are back in Holland after a trip of nearly 5000 KMS through France and Spain....You can see how we packed.
As you can see I used straps for extra safety. The rack was doing very well only one time I had to pump one cup extra.
